Li Qian and Reesie came to our house today, when they went back home. Nianai told Charlotte 阿姨回家睡觉 and she kept saying 阿姨睡觉(auntie go home sleep) today. Mama went shopping with waipo today, after we came back with a lot of healthy market products, Charlotte put her thumb up and said 妈妈真厉害 (mama is awesome) for a few times. She also showed Mama her bear music player saying 妈妈这个坏了（ mommy this is not working）because it wasn’t turned on. Mama asked “who repairs then”, she said 爸爸修 （Baba repairs）. she has been saying so many words lately. We went to bible study tonight and she didn’t even take her shoes off tonight.

We went to Hyvee to visit mama’s coworker yesterday. She said Kasia looked like eight or nine month old. Kasia does look quite mature because she’s very alert and loves smiling back when someone talks to her. When she wakes up in the morning, she doesn’t cry. She smiles happily right away when mommy looks at her eyes-such a sweet heart.

Alexa was playing Happy birthday song. Therefore Charlotte wanted to play with her cake toy but couldn’t find all the pieces. nainai grab a couple pieces from the car but theres still one piece missing. We look over the house but couldn’t find it. Charlotte was so sad and kept saying 蛋糕没了 ( cake is gone/missing) for so long. She didn’t want to play with one missing piece. When she looked at the cake she got mad and throw them off. Mama tried to distract her and walk her to stop light and wait for daddy to come home, she was in no good mood though.

After lunch she was still whining. Mama took her to the room and had some little talk with her, told her I would help her find her cake. Mama asked Charlotte to finish her food by herself and be happy, if she’s ready to go out then she can go. After being dismissed from the room, she ate 8 wontons by herself. Nainai was surprised and wondering what conversation we had. Nainai must think Mama has a secret way to convince Charlotte because Charlotte is always so happy after she comes out from the room. Daddy found the missing cake at night. Charlotte was so happy and kept singing Happy birthday song.

We tried to let Kasia stand and she was able to stand for a couple seconds with support. She wanted Mama to entertain her the whole time while waiting for nainais English one on one class.

Kasia loves noisy. We invited some friends over and gave her swing to Leon and shea laid on the baby chair without bouncing. She was so good while everyone was eating, because we were talking so loud. Everyone said she’s so alert and liked to smile. She likes to be held upright.

Kasia also 认人， when waigong waipo hold her, she knows that’s not mommy or someone who usually holds her, would start moving then crying. Waigong had said this when Kasia was 2 month.

Charlotte loves going out for walks with Baba and Mama. Besides walking Baba home for lunch , walk Baba back to work. She also takes a walk with us after dinner. She’s able to walk over a mile for a day and loves Baba and Mama hold her hands while walking. She would pull up her legs at times like she has been doing. When we walked for second around, she didn’t want to walk herself yesterday and wanted someone to hold her. We knew it was too much walk for her.

We went to Zhou Hua’s house for parade tonight. Charlotte got so excited picking candies off the street during the parade. Mommy told her if she said hi they’ll give her candies, so she waved at people and said hi a lot. For 3 or 4 times, the people in the parade was like ‘omg, she’s so cute’, and started throwing lots of candies to Charlotte. Some people just walked over and put candies into her bag. Charlotte got so busy picking candies. Zhao Yu said they must have not seen Asian babies and got so excited seeing Charlotte. We ended up taking about 3 or 4 lbs of candies home. Charlotte ate some and didn’t want dinner.

Kasia went to potluck with us at Thomas Park, almost was forgotten by all of us. She started crying in the car seat after we all finished eating, such a poor baby. She likes being interacted and would smile with sound if talk to her. She can sit straight if we hold her upright, she’s got strong neck and legs. she likes to look around.

Charlotte and mommy walked daddy home for lunch and walked him back to work. She took an umbrella with her and was holding it. the umbrella was so big and she’s so tiny underneath it. Charlotte have been saying 爸爸上班，外公上班，外婆上班 （daddy, waigong, waipo is working）these days.

Today is Mid-Autumn Festival. Liang Ling invited us over to her house to celebrate together. Charlotte went to bed at 12:30am and got up at 10am today and seemed to be a little tired. She had nose bleeding before we came back home. Everyone was trying to help but it got worse, she wasn’t cooperating and kept crying. Mama let nainai took Charlotte to the restroom so she could calm down.

Kasia was happy most of time. We tried to take a picture of Kasia and Leon, Liang Ling’s little boy who is 1 month younger, since they both dressed in red. Kasia smiled so big like she knew she was being photoed. We all had a good time today.

Charlotte put her tennis shoes on today without taking them off. Mama should say I am proud! because she always takes them off not long after she puts them on. Mommy and Charlotte walked to the stop light to get daddy home for lunch, daddy was in time . Charlotte sat on the side walk and waited for daddy. After lunch we walked daddy back to work again. Charlotte and Mommy went at night to walk daddy home again-3 trips today. We were early today before daddy gets off so we played by the water pond. Charlotte fell on the rocks and had a little bleeding on her thumb and lip. She saw mama throwing rocks in to the pond to make spray and she kept throwing rocks into the water too. Daddy is always happy to walk home or walk back to work with us.

Kasia is a good girl as she always has been. Whenever mama gets to talk to her she gets so happy and smile and look at mama just to show her happiness. She slept early today before 8pm. such a sleepy girl today that Mama took her in the room without waking up her.

Kasia scrolled herself down and tried to roll when she’s in the swing. She’s ‘been doing that since couple weeks ago. Even now we put her in changing table she tries to roll too, have to be careful with her now.

We dragged Charlotte out of bed and went to North Liberty church. She was awake and ate 6 dumplings in the car. when we got there, she fell asleep during the service, not very deep sleep though since her feet kept kicking mama and grabbed my pinky while sleeping.

Charlotte was whining too much this morning after she got up and wanted Nainai to hold her. Nainai was holding Kasia though and wanted to put her down, Mama joked about Kasia not being held much so Nainai didn’t put her down. Mama took Charlotte to the room and talked to her, she understood what Mama was saying. Mama told her that I did not know why she was crying and I didn’t want her to keep crying, and told her that Nainai likes her but Baba and Mama loves her more. She stopped crying and just sucked her thumb and let Mama hold her. After a few minutes she wanted to go out and saw the door closed and cried wanting to open it. Mama told her if she’s not calmed yet Mama would not want her to go out that Mama wanted her to behave and be happy when she’s out. She then came back to the bed for another minute and went to the door to play with my purse and found a candy. she kind of wanted to eat, but Mama told Charlotte only if she eats her breakfast I would give her the candy. She then was smiling and was ready to go out. She went and sit down on the table and finished a whole bowl of rice herself and was happy all day. Charlotte is such a sweetheart.

Mama and auttie Emily went to Pastor Xu’s house to make moon cakes and brought Kasia with us. There was a lady that really liked her and was holding her a lot. Kasia smiled a lot when people play with her there. The lady joked about taking Kasia home saying Kasia is so easy to take care. S

Sophia, Landon and Sierra came in the afternoon. All the kids played so well. Sophia kept holding Kasia up, took her to bed and then moved to the bassinet. All the kids followed her and played Kasia as she’s a doll.

Kasia likes to turn to her right side rather than left side, so her head is a little flat. Dr. Greenlie referred her to physical therapy and she was at moderate. we all tried to let her turn to left side more and hold her more and went back for second check. She’s getting better now. Mama is not that worried since i see her being able to turn to left side too. It’s probably because mama always nursed Kasia on her right side since her bassinet is by our bed. Mama now nurse her on the other side instead, this should be able to correct her head direction.

We went to South Dakota for a week. Charlotte listened to baba and mama when she didn’t see nainai. We tried to convince her to put her shoes on and had hard time doing it. Even if she had her shoes on she would them them off in the car or after entering into a building.

The other day baba and mama was going out for a walk and Charlotte wanted to go, so mama asked her to put certain shoes on but she would not. so we went without her. She took the shoes and had nainai put them on for her and kept crying and wouldn’t take them off because Baba and Mama already left without her. Now when we go out for a walk, if she wants to go out she would put her shoes on before we tell her, although she would take them off once she gets into a building right away. Couple days ago Baba and Mama were going out for a walk again, she didn’t have diaper or pants on and wanted to go. Mama asked her to put them on first before going out but she wouldn’t. We left without her and she took diaper to Nainai to have her put on but we didn’t wait for her. I hope Charlotte can learn from the lessons and she would expect that she needs her shoes on or diaper and pants on before going out.

Charlotte learned how to make gesture 3 and 2 with her fingers and kept doing same gestures when someone is taking her a photo. She did 3 for a while. After she learned 2, she now keeps doing 2. Charlotte doesn’t like noises much. she would plug her ears when the kitchen fan is on or it’s too loud at surrounding. She gets scared when there are noises outside or the hair blower is on and will cry and come to mama or nainai or daddy.

Kasia sucks her fist now an d Mama tried to put a pacifier into her mouth and she started sucking. Kasia has stuffed nose especially in the morning after waking up. Mana tried to suck the stuff out and she’s against to it ,would grab Mama’s hand and turn her head away.

Charlotte got up and didn’t see Kasia outside, so she came to baba and Mama s room and got on the bed herself playing with Kasia who was also on the bed. She was holding her hand and talking to her.

Charlotte doesn’t want her shoes on at all now. We’ve been shopping for a few days and she just ran with barefeet at the mall. She likes to hide in the bunches of clothes so that she’s hard to be found. Last night we were going to the mall to return something, Charlotte wanted to go and Mama asked her to put a specific pair of shoes on but she wouldnt, we went without Charlotte. Nainai hurried her to have shoes on and came out, but we already started backing the car. We want her to learn that she didn’t get to have second chance. Nainai said she was sad and didn’t want to take her shoes off for a while. Such a sweet poor girl
